CLIENT:

Food Network, Chopped

PROJECT:

NYC Wine & Food Festival

LOCATION:

New York

CHALLENGE:

Transform the 2016 Food Network + Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival on Pier 92 into a dynamic and memorable Chopped experience, using design inspiration from the TV series to create a variety of unique experience points.

APPROACH:

Rather than simply recreating the set of the show, TRIGGER(HOUSE incorporated the show’s iconic assets to develop a visual architecture that was familiar to fans yet fresh, giving guests the undeniable sense that they were inside a Chopped experience while driving exploration, participation, and sharing. Custom built elements included a posh Judge’s lounge, live audition booths, a life size 16’ Chopped basket, an entrance with 25 cleavers and 20 custom cloche lighting fixtures, 30 tasting stations where chefs prepared and sampled their dishes to guests, an interactive photo booth with 10 celebrity Judge overlays, and custom trophies for the top Chefs of the night.

RESULTS:

Food Network’s Rooftop Chopped was the marquee event of the 3 day NYC Wine and Food Festival with tickets selling out before the show and attendance of over 3000 people. Guests, chefs and Chopped judges noted the event truly felt like an extension of the TV show.
